Ahh.. good stuff. Wouldn't be so quick to junk the foam though; according to this thread VW now supply foam as opposed to the old plastic sheet type, although so far I've had no luck sourcing any despite daved's helpful provision of a part no.

Will be interested to see what it's like under the kit - good luck ;)

How's the red one coming on now? Suppose that's on the back burner for the time being..

Well with my experiences with the foam on mk3 it is a Mother Trucker to get it to tick to the car and stay there for over a week  and iv had no problems with the plastic sheets on past mk2's and it is easy to put on

and yes the red mk2 is on the back bench till the mk3 has gone

Spent yesterday after noon and most of the evening till it got dark cleaning the car

Started with a jet wash, cleaned it with Autoglym car wash 3 times it was really dirty, then leather down, clay bar,cut with megs ultimate finish compound, polished with Autoglym will wax it at the weekend.

Took the rear wiper are off i think it looks better without it a nice little mod

i cannot see pictures either whilst in work, but i think i was watching this car on Ebay. glad it went to a good home. looked so original in the advert.

hirschmann aerial would prob. have been used originally-if you can't buy new anymore then i'm sure one will turn up on ebay.

another vote for the thin/thick stripes between the wheel-arches-breaks up the 'fridge look' nicely.

car looks fine as it is.

a stripe as suggested would break up the overall "whiteness" is all.

I'd definitely change the wing mirrors to unpainted black plastic ones. Maybe a new set of registration plates too...?
