Cage is Looking good. Makes a lot of difference to the handling too. Really stiffens the chassis up

So today we went over to Cadwell park again, the weather forecast was wet in the morning and dry in the afternoon. What they didn't forecast was snow !!! Fortunately it didn't last. So in the morning I was out on Toyo T1R's on the front and acclera's on the back, my road tyres. The best I got in the wet was a 2:12 with some pretty hairy moments such as an 80mph sideways slide through coppice ??. After dinner the track dried out so I switched to the 888's, WOW what a difference !!!! The grip from the 888's is incredible !!! So with that and the added confidence that goes with it I got my PB down to 1:57.3 which with the added weight of the cage I am well happy ?? and the car performed faultlessly again.
The next update should include the removal of the bullet proof 8v making way for the V5

Here's a short vid from Thursday, the first bit is my 80mph slide through coppice, the stickered up black mk3 is a VR6 and the Red MK4 is a VR6 too. In a straight line my little 8 valve doesn't really stand a chance but as you can see the corners are a different story

Well it's out with a bit of a fight, the cv bolts being the biggest headache because some clown had ripped the splines out of the bolts.

I'm going to have an engine mount issue, the VR6 mount and the AGG mounts won't bolt to the V5 block so it looks like I've got to use the V5 mount onto the top of the chassis leg however I was bothered I'd have to drop the subframe to get the exhaust downpipe out however it appears that the AGG downpipe will fit the V5!!! Good times !!

So today the engine went in for the first time. I replaced the inner cv's as one of them had started clicking. The exhaust so far seems to be a direct fit, it's loosely bolted up until I get the engine in the right place. I need to find a VR6 front mount bracket now as the AGG one is different then I can make the mount for the O/S chassis leg. The front crossmember will new to be cut and clearances as the belt runs too close to it for my liking. But it's all going pretty well so far.

Had a hour or so in the garage this evening, fitted the clutch master cylinder and pipes, front engine mount and a few other bits and bobs. The engine mount on the O/S is tomorrow mornings first job.

I may have to put a bulge in the bonnet, that manifold looks like it's going to be close
