I need to vote another 2 times....

1 sony MP3 thingy with a CD changer and a big speaker in the boot.
1 Sony tape player with some old rough direct replacement speakers
    1 Alpine CD head

got to say I like Sonys but they arent as well built as they were, the
MP3 one can rattle a bit on the motorway so I'll probably get a newer
one, the tape one has lasted 5 years and is tough, I would have
upgraded it but it's good and herself doesnt have any CDs.... [:s]
Both sound pretty good though. I cant remember using the alpine,
every car I fit it too gets stripped out (inc. dash) before the first
    month of ownership.

sony have lost it unless you go for the very high end ones

as for loud thats nothing to do with the head unit it's the amps and equipment i could get a decent reading running a walkman to my amps

if your serious about ice get on www.talkaudio.co.uk for some serious head mashing information for you

Blaupunkt speakers in the doors, Blaupunkt head unit that I got out of my
mk2 I think (or maybe it came from a Volvo 340?). LCD screen's broken,
radio doesn't work, cassette player's a bit noisy, volume control's crackly,
passenger speaker cuts out sometimes until you give it a kick. Does the
    job for me.

    blaupunkt los angles mp 72

bought it because i thought it looked cool, has a sub output, the potential for another 4 rcas, plays mp3 cds and has a mmc memory card slot and will play mp3 staight off that

also has an aux in so i can use it with my mp3 player,

but it wont play any tidy cds, anything else works apart from them, i have to code them to mp3 to work [:s]

my alpine doesnt have any extra flash graphics, just lots of useful sound options and blinding sound quality.

I have a pioneer too in another car, perhaps im not being fair as its a lesser model, but its crap compared to the alpine!

    Alpine 9812RB + Changer in the MK2
Pioneer something or other + changer in the MK3

I loved the pioneer but since getting the Alpine I'm considering replacing it.

Ive got a older Alpine deck. It isn't much to look at but is high on sq and doesn't have any silly gimicks. I can't stand these new silver headunits they stick out like a sore thumb in a mk1 dash [8(]

just meant loud as in powerful (compared to most), and if you cant be arsed to wire in the amps etc, the stereo does the job like [:s]
