mine is a little mic that has to be mounted in the car somewhere and get wired in at the back.

I was thinking more of noise on the motorway.

Had a Blaupunkt in the polo, Cassete head unit with 10 disk changer. Then a sony cd headunit with a 10 disk changer. Now i've another sony but it's a MD player. Happy with all of them and they were all cheap second hand deals.

I don't have headunit anymore some f_cker popped my front passenger window and helped themselves to it about a 2-3 weeks ago [:x] [:x] [:x] [:x]

This was at about 11am too, on a weekday [:x]

Its was only about 6 months old and was a Sony CDX-M850MP, the next HU will have a pop off front!
I've still got the remote [:^(]

    I have a JVC KD-SH909RB

Love it to bits. one stipilation was that it had to have a volume knob (I hate up and down buttons).

I've had several pioneers (although admitedly never new - came with cars) and a couple of Kenwoods (great but I don't go for the mobile disco look). I'm a diehard JVC-phile now. [:D]

    Alpine all the way!

I've got a CDA-9815RB, and i've got to say, its brillaint!

Plays MP3's/WMA's, and has alot of excellent features including Media Expander, which means u can play pretty scratched up CD's with no probs. Also has some very complicated functions like time correction, which changes the time each speaker fires at, to make the sound reach your ears at exactly the same time! [:D]

If i didn't have the alpine, it would be Pioneer.

I always used to have Alpine units but now have a Kenwood 3021.

Its a budget unit but its 50w per channel, has a pre out and plays CDR`s. What more do I need ?

Plus it only cost me 40 new.

So nice having MP3 [:D] 3 discs and you're laughing.

Only problem is the delay between tracks while playing MP3 discs.
