    I've got one of these.

I had a 600 pioneer Minidisc unit that packed up after 13 months so i'm not best pleased with them.

    I have a sony mp3 job:

Does the job, and it hasn't f**ked up yet. Plus I like having the remote. Once you have learnt where the buttons are, you don't have to move or take your eyes off the road to do stuff.

Now I just need to get some new speakers... still haven't decided where and what to fit.

It has hard drive inside, you put the cd in once and it copies it. all your music all the time, no cd's to worry about.

stores files as sony atrac3 instead of mp3 and doesnt have cd changer controls, only things i can think wrong with it.

A bit dear at about 800 retail in the shops [:s] .I mangaed to get it ex display from work :) . Dont think anyone ever bought one full price.

The HD is 16gb only used half of it and run out of cd's. (about 300).

Dont think sony are making it anymore. shame as its a good unit.

    I've got this:

    panasonic cq-rdp383n 50Wx4 MP3/WMA CD player

Bought off ebay for 45, and its poo, cds and even mp3s skip, and it wont play variable bit rate WMAs. Takes ages to initially read an MP3 cd when you first stick it in.

    Sounds good enough though.

what the fact it aint mounted properly, or the fact that it sounds like i pinched the bloody thing from another car?

Well I can assure you that, if i had nicked it, it didnt deserve to be in that really pooty 1L fiesta that only lasted 80000 miles [:x]. But I deffo purchased it from Halfrauds :p
