There's too many people talking b0ll0cks on the Evo board to see the sensible posts.

i remember the 50-70 epic thread years ago, some people were coming out with silly figures that seemed unlikely for their car, but compared to a lot of the machinery there, my golf is a bit weedy hence im not too suprised lol

Ok, did a run in the Saab - bearing in mind this was a oxo-1-oxo-2- count it was about 8 seconds. I will confirm tomorrow with a stopwatch, but I reckon thats pretty good for 10 year old motor worth about a grand!! This was on my own, but with child seat and pram in the back - no child obviously... the beauty of this motor is that its a straight pull in 3rd. And I get 30+ mpg, awesome engine!

I now think that 4 secs is proper supercar territory. Havent been on the evo forum yet, may go and have a look how 8 secs compares.

Who was it that had the 0-100 in 10 secs SEAT? That must have had some serious juice.

    Cheers,
    Pad

So none of your GTi's will hit the 100 in third?? Surely if you hammer it into third doing 60mph in second it should acheive 100 quite fast.

jeez, they are an excitable bunch. I only looked at a couple of pages before being chucked off - may join for a laugh.

Elise quick eh? That cant be right, I know the old SAAB is quick but I would be genuinely impressed if it was that quick. i definitely want to get a stopwatch on it now. Saw someone posted a 9.5 in a CTR - that made me smile though, I know someone who thought that theirs could destroy anything. Nob.
