if anything I have only had maybe 1 bar drop while holding the phone like that..
I've heard that an update is due within the next week or so to help with the lag of the signal switching! thus helping reducing the loss of signal.

seems they have come clean and said this is a problem.

It's funny, they've now acknowledged there is both software and hardware at fault. So regardless of a software update, the reception drop when holding it wrong will still occur, just you won't have as many bars in the first place.

I got 32 gigger on Saturday and it's my first iphone. It is fair to say I haven't got a clue how to use the stupid thing. They're definitely not for Ludytes like me who have never used an ipod effort or visited itoons. The instructions lull you into a false sense of simplicity stating "Just download the latest itunes, connect your iphone and it will sync automatically". YEAH RIGHT!!!

My phone does frick all when I conect it to my laptop [:x]

Right, it's so simple I can't see how it's not working for you?!

    1. Sim card in
    2. Turn iPhone on
    3. Boot pc/ mac up
    4. Load iTunes
    5. Plug in your iPhone
    6. Follow on screen instructions... Easy.

If when you connect your iPhone 'nothing' happens, then if the above don't work, install the latest iTunes from apple and try again.

Thanks for the prompts Dan. I did try all that as thats what the supplied instructions said, but naff all happened! The other half has just managed to successfully do it for me after digging on the tinterweb. It turns out the itunes I downloaded FOUR times was stored under the name I gave my computer. What a daft place for itunes to put itself!

I actually dropped mine down the toilet the other day, fell out of my pocket when i pulled my pants up.

obviously i retrieved it immediately and washed/dried it off.

had a paddy for about 3 hours. i tried to turn it off but the apple logo kept flashing up. about 3 hours later it was working perfectly!
