Hopefully the press conference will be to retrofit the part that they are fitting in the new manufacturing process at Apple stores.
PMSL Just ordered a HTC desire on wednesday, seems to beat the iphone 4 in every review I could find.....
3x colleagues at work have the Desire. Personally, i hate it. But its all about choice. I like the way the iPhone works, the apps, the way it does everything i need it for. BTW. Apple have announced free bumpers/cases for everyone that buys an iPhone 4 till Sep 30th. If you bought a bumper, you get a full refund. They are going to re-evaluate the signal issue September. Only 0.55% of iPhone 4 owners have complained to Apple about the "issue". There is a return rate of iPhone 4 1/3 of that of the 3Gs. So the data points to an issue that has been blown out of proportion. Im inclined to agree.
I've had a HTC HD2 for 8 months + it came with a case and works fine out of the case!! I love that video its so true, it's just a phone like all the rest!
I just went for the desire due to it was free and sells on ebay for silly money, if i hate it (which is likely as its touch screen only) i sell it and keep my current phone, selling it will almost pay for the whole 18month contract! Recon my G1 is good for another 15months till next upgrade.
Those type of vids are brill. iphone has great user interface but there are better phones out there. I like my wifes 3gs but i'll be bug***** if im paying for one, especially when the battery lasts for only 24 hours.

I've had a rubber edged Griffin cover on mine since the 2nd day. I've noticed any problems with service dropping off or dropping calls. Dunno what all the fuss is about.
Thats the fix Paul, It stops you holding the metal which grounds the antenne. They are give out free covers for all iphone 4 users.
