Sadly your warranty will now be void as the water sensitive paper in the ear phone plug and in the docking port will have turned red showing Apple that its been in water... just don't let it get damaged now as there is no come back from water damage!

Wow, putting paper in the phone to test for water is genius!
Not if you drop it in water but it's a good simple test.

Aye, various phone manufacturers have done that for years.

To get all the moisture out put the phone, put it in a jar wrapped in kitchen paper with silica crystals and leave for a few days preferably in sunlight.

I learnt it after my youngest fell in a pool and I went in to rescue him and had my phone in my pocket believe it or not....I learnt two things after that, the most important being not to take your eyes off a child by water.

Ha, I hear last night there is a prob with the iPhone 4 and signal drop out, due to aerial design?

Are you all the guinea pigs?

Every phone has the issue in some way Chris, colleagues htc desire at work do it, all 3 of them. If Apple products aren't 100% perfect without a single fault everyone makes a big deal out of it.

There's actually nothing wrong with it.

So what's the story? Total rubbish?

On the one hand, I get the idea of having the latest gadget, and being able to use them and benefit from the features they give - at a price.

On the other, I object to cynical marketing, which is an accusation that can justifiably be thrown at this product and the "i" product line in general.

The fact that a premium product is not 100% on such a simple matter, in times of clogging networks, ain't on.

    It's entirely fair comment.

I'm not having any problems with signal. Admittedly my 3G does get signal at home but that's on o2.

Lol I was making a comparison between my 4 and 3G

Though I will say the 'scratch resistant glass' isn't. Ive noticed already mine has a few on the back. Don't know how either...

Is this Steve Jobs press conference?
I have heard the beta ios4.1 seems to have worked well, so maybe it will be just to announce the new software update.
Either way, it'll probably happen about 18.00 tonight, best keep an eye on http://www.macrumors.com/iphone/

i bought a bumper thingie bob when i upgraded to iphone4 - not had any issues with signal... however i just saw on the news exactly what the issue is and recreated it out of the bumper - OH DEAR haha....

now for me the bumper thing is ace as it wont get messed up, but i am sure some toffs who only do light work, who wear suits etc this wont be to their liking..

i like my phone a lot ha
