But how did it improve your driving experience? (now im not being funny with this comment....) Was it just now you have the "noise" to make you think your car is faster than it is? Or has it actually made it drive like a lot faster car?

What ever your reasons its your car so its your choice. Fair play to people for not giving a sh1t what others think.

I`m not shouting from the rooftops, nor am I trying to convert others to my way of thinking.

What I am trying (unsuccessfully) to convey is that to me it is the best thing since sliced bread ...

    You dont agree, ok.

You want me to chill ? Dude if I chilled anymore I`d be asleep

Oh and the Mk2 will be a classic ... just give it time ... ;)

RECARDO, if you want to spend 10 grand on your mk2 then thats cool mate. Me? Id rather spend it on an e36 M3 evo and have something thats IMO just as nice and well built but it wouldnt of been in and out of the garage for the last year!!! :p

oh come on dude....a mk2 golf is NOT the best thing since sliced bread....we all love the cars we own, that's why we chose them in the first place, but there are so many other much better cars out there!!!

Lookig at your first three new car 'points' i'd go and get a
    [IMG]

Then pull your head out of your arse and accept the fact that some people dont want newer cars regardless of bhp etc...

Den you love your car thats fair enough mate. You need to realise im a mk2 owner too.... Im not trying to make you look a bell end for owning one or anything!

One more thing......... Personally I would find it interesting to compare peoples ages to their opinions on this thread?

me, im 25 in a couple of months...

He's simply expressed that he enjoys driving his MK2, and why. I really don't recall him 'shouting from the roof' about anything.

See here we go with the sarcasm [8-}]

    I wouldnt put a Mk2 on a plinth ...

Trafalgar Square would be made into a Mk2 only tyre testing zone

If you want an M3 then you would be better off with an E30. Older perhaps but an infinitely better car than the E36 which is just a glorified 328i.

well there u go then, in reality, u COULD NOT afford an EVO M3, because cost is obviously an issue for u. if u were loaded, money wouldn't even come into it.

    Sigh.
    "Anyone can afford an R32"
    "Bye bye R32"
    "mk4 Barge"

My regular trips to Cornwall (from London) are now the easiest they have ever been and I can have fun when I get there. I
The car gets gawped at everywhere I go (my mk2 and 3 didn't get a second glance).
That's all I have to say.

DaveR, serious question, are you unhappy with your golf for some reason? Did something happen to influence this thread? It's not just performance that people buy old vw's for.

    STOP !

Dont get personal for f*cks sake.

The point is that we all like different cars.

    We will never all agree.

We buy cars because we like them, regardless of what others think.

If we were all the same this forum would be boring.

LOL at tyre testing.... is that if yoko actually turn up? ;)

You dont know a thing about BMW's do you!?

E30 m3.... ultimate drivers saloon car ever.... but slower than my G60 (also getting on a bit now and parts are getting rarer)
E36 m3.... a bit less hardcore but still highly commened (more so than the 46)
E36 328... no lsd, no vanos, .4 of a litre missing different gemomtery etc....

no b'locks i can afford an evo m3. i just 'refuse' to pay those prices.

which is why i used the spare 4k and bought a yamaha r1. because i think 1000 insurance for a bike that does 180mph and 0-60 in 3 seconds for 10 a week fuel 'is worth it'

just coz i dont waste my money doenst mean i cant afford something
