i feel like im banging my head against an iron door

my sister owns a golf, there is no way she can push her car to a limit on a track that is going to be as bad as me pushing it on a country lane

yes if you have 2 drivers of equal standard on a road and track the track would cause more damage. i accept that

    but

what im saying is what if those drivers arent of the same standard.....the better driver could cause more damage on road, than the not so good driver on a track

    agreed?

therefore driving surface doesnt make as much as a difference as drive ability

    phew

I don't think anyone is jumping in to blame DD or has said anything out of turn. I just think that if I had paid a lot of money for an engine conversion with a warranty, and I hadn't done anything wrong. I would be mega p***** if they wanted to charge me for the work again.

I don't see how its too different to when the garage replaced my clutch. 3 weeks later its slipping again, due to an oil leak, that was soemthing they should have known to look for so they fixed it at their cost. For me they are decent people and I always use them and I let people know they are decent, and I must have sent at least 5 people their way. If on the other hand they charged me, I would tell people to steer clear. I think word of mouth is the best advert any company can get.

Richgit has been on here posting continuously how good his conversion is, what an advert that is. If they then blame a component which they fitted as a reason for not paying the warranty for me it would reflect badly on the company.

To be honest, I dont think it matters in theslightest rich git has been a good advert, everyone should be treated the same when it comes to things like this.

I'm sure the DD's boys appreciate the good publicity, but if i were them i'd deal with it just like any other situation.

Just because rich posts good things on a forum doesnt give him ANY right to be treated differently to other people if you ask me.

Imagine if he got it repaired for free, for this reason, then one of you guys not so well known in the scene thats read this topic for instance or know about rich's case has the same problem, and they don't fix it for free..I know i'd be p***** off.

    Just my two cents.

Id go with Daz's theory of the plastic propellas in the water pump, we had that go on the 20vt Leon, the temp went sky high and luckily Mart stopped the car before any damage was done repalcement pump from gsf had metal parts inside!
