I suppose the air coming out the back of the intercooler would be quite hot from the heat it's removed from the intake air. This hot air would be what's going through the radiator.
I think that it is perfectly plausible to replicate track conditions on road. For instance, down shifting, heavy braking, accl out of corners, high rpm reached in short spaces etc. etc. Think of it as a rally stage. Just my 2p Cheers
Course it is, youd just have to be driving like a total moron to manage to do so Me old mans car had a G60 rad and it stayed on temp all the time, he had it round the track alot to..Mind you it didnt have an oil cooler and wasnt runnign quite as much boost i dont think.. His intercooler went from headlight to headlight to, allard job, it was only a single fan on the rad... Could have been a million and one things really..
for a small distance i can understand but to replicate the stress's of a track session on the roads you'd need a HUGE stretch of road and to be pretty much caining it the whole way. somthing that CGTI would never endorse!
I'd rather trust a woman, in that case I wouldnt have to replace another gearbox! - jking Sorry to hear about ur misfortune Rich, hope u get it sorted Edited by: m1xmag
Recardo - your point about comparng 1 driver to the next isn't really of any relevance. We are talking about 1 person in the same car, on track and then road. Road driving, no matter how hard can ever compare to track driving. Simple.
